KW Edu ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Study Canada website (studycanada.net). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

2. Identifying Purposes
We collect personal information for the following purposes:
- Study-abroad consulting services: Processing inquiries, providing personalized guidance on studying in Canada
- Application and enrolment services: Applying to Canadian schools and school boards, completing admission procedures, enrolling students in language programs, preparing study permit applications, and delivering settlement services you have applied for
- Communication: Sending greeting emails and text messages to contacts who have opted in to marketing communications
- Newsletters: Sending periodic newsletters to subscribers who have opted in
- Service operations: Analyzing usage patterns to improve our services
3. Consent
We obtain your consent before collecting, using, or disclosing your personal information.
- Required consent: You must agree to our collection and use of personal information to use our services.
- Marketing consent: Receiving marketing communications (emails, text messages) is optional and requires separate opt-in consent.
- Withdrawal: You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at privacy@studycanada.net or using the deletion request form.

Once you proceed from consultation to an actual application, we collect the following additional information through the relevant application form. What we collect depends on the service you apply for. Each form states the items collected and the purposes, and we collect them only after you consent.
- All services: Name (Korean and English), date of birth, gender, nationality, address, phone number, email
- College: Passport details, academic records and transcripts, standardized English test scores, intended program, preferred school, region, and start term
- K-12 / NSISP: Passport details, academic records, current grade, preferred school, region, and start term, guardian and accommodation details, and the name, phone number, and email of a parent or legal guardian
- Language programs: Passport details, preferred language school, program and course length, accommodation and insurance requests, health information, smoking status, expected arrival date, and address in Canada
- Settlement services: Arrival details (flight, arrival date, visa held), employment and occupation details, accompanying family members, housing and vehicle preferences and budget, and pet details
- Study permit: Passport details, education and work history, family and spousal details, marital status, military service, travel and residence history, financial information (tuition, source of funds, sponsor details), and biometrics enrolment history
Passport Number
We collect your passport numberto apply to Canadian schools on your behalf and to prepare study permit applications. Under Korea's Personal Information Protection Act (Article 24 and Article 19 of its Enforcement Decree), a passport number is a unique identifier, and we do not use it for any other purpose. We obtain your consent on the application form. You may decline, but school application and study permit services cannot be provided without it. We use the passport number only as needed for your application and destroy it without delay once the retention period ends.
Health Information
Language program applications ask about health considerations such as allergies and medical conditions, so that accommodation can be arranged safely. This is sensitive information under Article 23 of Korea's Personal Information Protection Act. We disclose it only to the parties that need it — the accommodation provider and the language school — and only to the extent required, and we do not use it for any other purpose. You may indicate that you have nothing to report, and enrolment services are not affected if you do.
5. Limiting Use, Disclosure, and Retention

Personal information is used only for the purposes for which it was collected. We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.

These providers act as processors and do not independently use your personal information.
Some of the above processors are located outside Korea (United States, Canada), and your personal information may be transferred abroad within the scope necessary to perform those services. Transfers occur at the time the relevant service is used, via electronic transmission. In particular, for study permit application support, personal information required for the visa application (passport, family relationship, residence and activity history, marital/military service details, financial information, etc.) may be transferred to Bridge Together Consulting (Canada).
Legal Requirements
We may disclose personal information when required by law or in response to valid legal requests from government authorities.
Retention
Personal information is retained for 2 years from the date of collection.
- Upon expiration, records are automatically archived (deactivated).
- If additional services are provided during the retention period (e.g., visa extension consulting, additional school applications), the retention period restarts from the date of the new activity for another 2 years.
- Where required by applicable law, information may be retained for the period prescribed by such law.
6. Accuracy
We take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is accurate, complete, and up-to-date. If you believe your information is inaccurate, please contact us at privacy@studycanada.net to request a correction.
7. Safeguards
We protect personal information with security measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL)
- Row-level security on database access
- Service-role-based access controls
- Regular security reviews of third-party service providers
8. Openness
This Privacy Policy is publicly available at studycanada.net/en/privacy. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
9. Individual Access and Deletion
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information held by us.

Process
- Upon receiving a deletion request, we verify your identity.
- Once verified, your personal information is immediately anonymized.
- After anonymization, the information can no longer be used to identify you.
Response Time
We will respond to access or deletion requests within 30 days, in accordance with PIPEDA requirements.
Opt-Out of Marketing
To stop receiving marketing emails or text messages, click the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any marketing email, or contact privacy@studycanada.net.
